Jumping Joseph

>> Saturday, June 21, 2008

Joseph loves being in his "Johnny Jump up!" At first he could barely sit in it without bumping his head on the wall. Now he has total control. He jumps so well, he even gets air sometimes!! We love to watch him! Come on over any time to watch the jumping baby!! Why watch the TV?

We have been having fun with friends lately. Here's a picture of Joseph with Josiah & Layla. They're pretty cute together!!!

Joseph & Josiah were eating the same baby food.

We've been in and out of the car a lot lately. Here's Joseph taking one of his naps in the car. Isn't he sweet??

This is another time when we were in the car. I was tickling him and he was laughing so hard. He's such a fun boy! I thought it was a great picture because you can see the results of all his teething lately...5 teeth in all and more on the way!!

I'm almost all caught up with posting. We are finally feeling a little normal. We've been busy catching up with people. It's been fun, but busy. We have finally turned our days and nights around. Joseph is sleeping 10 - 12 hours a night!! yay!!!!!!!

Joseph hasn't been into books a whole lot, but we keep trying. Kinda sad for someone who has a masters degree in Elementary Reading a Literacy! When he's in the mood to read, we take advantage of it!!

We went to some friends' house tonight and enjoyed playing games and speaking Arabic!! It was so funny....we were talking about how we describe animal sounds differently in the two languages. For example in English we say that dogs say, "ruff, ruff," but in Arabic we say, "how, how!!" We had a good time laughing about this!!!

These Arab friends have a swing in their hallway, which Joseph loved!!! It was his first time in a swing!!!!

Behind us you can see that our friend is burning incense and making the room smell nice! We love to burn Frankincense...it's one of our favorites!

Cute Joseph

We got Joseph dressed tonight to go out to eat with some friends. I set him down and said, "My goodness...he's such a cute boy!!"

He loves to clap his hands, especially with Miss Patty Cake!!

Lately we've been asking, "How big is Joseph?" and teaching him to raise his hands! He does it about 1/2 of the time. He has been a lot of fun!

making a mess at the doctor's office

Joseph has had a slight case of bronchitis. Thankfully he seems to be getting better. Sometimes it takes a while to get over it, though.

When we went back to the doctor for a check up. The doctor just told us that he's getting better. Thanks a lot! We already knew that.

Here's a couple pictures of Joseph on the table in the doctor's office. He's an active boy and he sure enjoyed the paper!! haha!! He likes to tear paper. Silly boy!

new friends

This week Joseph has had a good time with his new friends Layla & Josiah! We've found that it's hard to get good pictures of the three of them together. Having three babies together sure keeps us busy. Kinda reminds me of Tonya's triplets...only there are 3 moms!

Steph really wanted to get a butt picture! We won't be posting butt pictures for too much longer!! haha!

hanging out with friends

Joseph has been meeting lots of friends. Two of his new friends are his same age!! We'll post more pictures of the three of them together soon.

Here's a picture of Joseph and Layla.

We can get him to look at the camera...now we need to work at smiling at the camera!! :)

Maybe he didn't want to smile because he's cutting more teeth. This is how he was feeling when he was teething really hard yesterday.

Parties!

This weekend we had two parties. One was a party with Americans. It was a Welcome Home/Baby Shower! We had such a good time. We are so blessed to have so much support here. Here's a few pictures from that party:

Here are all of the cars parked outside our friends' house.

Here's the doorway into the house.

Here's the sign that was on the door.

Here we are opening some presents! This big present is his pack 'n play. We have already used it a couple times. We plan to have "playpen time" every day!

(I think that's Layla's hand reaching out for my shoulder. She must have wanted to be part of the action!)

I had another party with a couple American ladies and a lot of Arab ladies. It was a blast!! I couldn't take any pictures because that's not appropriate. They came late, but we had so many people. Our little apartment was bursting at the seams. We ate Arab food on the floor! Then we danced to loud music! We had such a good time. And, of course, they loved Joseph!!
